The TCRT5000 Infrared tracking sensor is an infrared sensor module which has both a Photodiode and a Phototransistor coupled in a compact module.
This sensor can be used to detect the presence of object or any other reflective surface in front it, also with some level of programming it can also calculate the distance of the object in front it. There is also an on-board potentiometer to adjust the sensitivity.
With the presence of any reflected rays onto the phototransistor, the module will be in the On- state. Note: Uses an inverse Logic principle, Output is Low when any object is present. Working voltage: 3.3V – 5V.
